Man accused of stealing $19 thousand worth of Girl Scout cookies
Girl Scout cookies are awesome. They are amazingly delicious. They’re also kind of expensive, though.
Christopher Maurice Morton, a 37-year-old man from South Carolina, has been charged with stealing $19 thousand worth of Girl Scout cookies from a warehouse in Spartanburg, S.C. according to the New York Times.
The theft was first noticed on February 26, when workers of the warehouse did inventory and noticed that more than 450 cases of cookies had gone missing. The thief’s cookie of choice: Thin Mints and Shortbreads.
450 cases, Morton? What were you planning on doing with 50 cases of delicious cookies? Again, the obsession with Thin Mints and Shortbreads is totally understandable. What isn’t understandable is why Morton would risk going to jail for some cookies.
Master Deputy Kevin Bobo said Greenville County Sheriff’s deputies found 352 cases of Girl Scout cookies behind an abandoned business.
Morton is charged with breach of trust more than $10,000.
