When mixers, wing men and Craigslist fail, a new local dating game show has got your back.

“Meet Your Match TV” debuts Thursday night on public access, offering Boston singles a unique, albeit very public way, to bag a date.

Show host Melysha Acharya, owner of BrokenHeartedGirl.com and self proclaimed “breakup recovery guru,” describes the show as “The Dating Game with a twist.”

“As a single person, I know how hard it is to meet people in Boston, so I wanted to offer an alternative to that scene,” Acharya said.

The contestants – “suitors” and “suitorettes” – are separated by a partition and ask each other questions, like, “How far would you go on a first date?” and “What’s your idea of a perfect night?”

At the end of the game, contestants meet the most compatible matches and receive date night gift cards.

Singles who don’t win a date are invited to the next filming, and viewers can connect with the “unwanted” contestants through MeetYourMatch.tv, which also doubles as a free dating website.

The show started filming in January, but according to show producer Matt Smith, it’s been tough getting singles to sign up.

“Hopefully once we start airing episodes we’ll get more people to come on the show,” Smith said.

Twenty-one-year-old rugby player Jessie Pearce was one of the first contestants to win a date, although it didn’t end up working out with the suitorette – who Pearce described as “a very nice girl but not really my type.”

“I went on (the show) with a couple teammates; we were really competitive,” he said. “I feel like it’s an easy way to meet someone.”

The show airs Thursday night at 11 p.m. on BNN in Boston, which reaches over 600,000 homes in the Boston-area.

Episodes will also be available on MeetYourMatch.Tv.
