Website names Philadelphia an ‘overrated’ city
In its online City Guide, Complex, a a men’s lifestyle website, named Philadelphia as the eighth most overrated city in America.
The first thing they mention? Asking readers to Google “batteries + Santa Claus.” jfaa78394r8sda8r789ewhsfkÔklvjiu.
Sorry, that came up after Metro’s collective heads hit the keyboard from falling asleep.
If you do in fact Google “batteries + Santa Claus,” you’ll see a Sports Pickle blog post called “9 Terrible Philly Fan Incidents.” Number #2 is the time Philly fans booed a drunk guy playing St. Nick at an Eagles game … you know the story.
And like the blog says: “Oh, here we go again with this one. All anyone talks about is Philly fans hitting Santa Claus with snowballs. It was MORE THAN 40 YEARS AGO! GET OVER IT!”
Please. Get over it. What’s next, Complex?
Apparently our most overrated person is Richard Gere. A quick poll of our editorial team showed results that no one even knew Gere was from Philadelphia. With all the celebs you could have gone with — Will Smith, Seth Green, Kevin Bacon, Toni Basil — you go with Zack Mayo?
And our most overrated feature is Rittenhouse Square. Apparently the editorial team of Complex doesn’t appreciate some of the best restaurants on the eastern seaboard and some of the most beautiful pocket parks.
We’re more than OK with Complex calling us “overrated.” Remember, overrated doesn’t mean bad. It just means we’re praised more highly than we deserve. Actually, we think we’re perfectly rated. Maybe even underrated.
You got a problem with that?
