VIDEO: Two gunmen rob store, 3rd suspect talks on cell phone

Philadelphia police on Tuesday released surveillance videos that show the armed robbery of a South 22nd Street corner store earlier this month.

The videos show three masked men entering the Lucky Food Corner store, at 2101 S. 22nd St., about 4:15 p.m. March 16. Two of the suspects are seen carrying handguns, while the third masked man talks on a cell phone throughout the robbery.

Police say the gunmen forced several store employees into a back room, where the victims were robbed of an iPhone, an iPad and a wallet. The suspects also emptied the Girard Estates store’s cash register.

Police described one gunman as a black male about 30 years old, 5 feet 8 inches tall and of medium build. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, black mask and black gloves.

The second gunman is described as a black male, about 5 feet 10 inches tall and thin. He was wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, a black mask and black gloves.

The phone-wielding suspect is described as a black male, about 23 years old and thin. He was wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt, dark pants, a black mask and black gloves, and is also believed to have been armed with a handgun, police said.

Anyone with information on the armed robbery is asked to call 911, or to submit an anonymous tip by dialing 215-686-TIPS (8477), texting PPD TIP (773847), emailing or by filling out this online form.
