Police in Western Pennsylvania are investigating a bizarre incident last week in which two disgruntled customers threw a dead groundhog, then a dead grouse, into a bar, according to a report from The Dubois Courier-Express.

A man entered Bill’s Bar in Brookville, Pa., shortly before 5 p.m. Sunday and allegedly threw a dead groundhog inside, then fled.

Investigators said he and a second man sped away in a red Ford truck with an extended cab and a partial Pennsylvania license plate of ZBW.

The men allegedly returned about four hours later and threw a dead grouse into the bar.

State Game Commission officials are also investigating the incident.

Brookville Police Chief Ken Dworek told The Associated Press the suspects are two men who were refused service at the bar – one because he is underage and a second because he has an alcohol problem.

“They’re a couple of young, dissatisfied customers,” he said.

Dworek said the incident is not particularly uncommon in the rural town of Brookville.

“We have a lot of it up here,” he said.

“A guy will get in an argument and put a dead squirrel on his girlfriend’s doorknob, that kind of thing.”
