Body found in burning Southwest Philadelphia rowhouse
Police are investigating the discovery Wednesday morning of a man’s body inside a burning home in Southwest Philadelphia.
Firefighters were around 7:30 a.m. called to a two-story rowhouse on the 5900 block of Springfield Avenue for reports of smoke coming from the second floor.
After the flames were extinguished, officials found the body of a man on the home’s second floor.
He appeared to have been shot in the back of the head and was pronounced dead on the scene.
Detectives are continuing to investigate the incident as a homicide.
