SPCA: Kitten ‘intentionally burned’ in Kensington
The Pennsylvania Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals says someone intentionally burned a kitten found this week in Philadelphia’s Kensington section.
The SPCA is seeking the public’s help identifying the individual, or individuals, responsible for burning the kitten.
“This is a horrendous act of cruelty to inflict on a helpless animal,” PSPCA law enforcement director George Bengal said.
The kitten, believed to be 4 or 5 weeks old, was found injured on the 3100 block of F Street, near McPherson Square Park. It had burns over 1/3 of its body, primarily near its head and on its back.
The SPCA is obtaining a search warrant to obtain video footage from a local business to aid its investigation.
The SPCA urges anyone with information to call its Anti-Cruelty Hotline at 866-601-SPCA.
