Police arrested suspect in East Oak Lane home invasion
One of the suspects who allegedly broke into the East Oak Lane apartment of a 55-year-old male earlier this month has been arrested, police said.
Lakea Woods, 33, 1600 block of Prospect Avenue has been identified as one of the suspects involved in the home invasion. The other two suspects remain at-large.
The three were captured on surveillance video on May 3rd entering an apartment complex around 10 a.m. on the 6600 block of 12th Street. They forced their way into the apartment of a 55 year-old male and knocked him to the floor.
One man pointed a gun at the man’s head and threatened to kill him while the other stole money from his pockets. The trio stole an undetermined amount of money, an Xbox video game system, prescription medication and a cell phone.
While investigating another incident on May 12, police found Woods in the residence and arrested her.
Woods is charged with robbery, aggravated assault and related offenses.
