Black bear causing stir in Moorestown, Mount Laurel
A black bear has been causing quite a stir in two South Jersey towns the last few days.
The bear has been spotted in both Moorestown and Mount Laurel since Sunday, Moorestown Patch reports.
Moorestown police spotted the bear, which is estimated to weigh 400 to 500 pounds, in Strawbridge Lake, in the area of Route 38 and Nixon Drive, on Tuesday.
A New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection spokesman told the website that no action would be taken to capture the bear so long as it does not pose a threat to residents.
The bear was first observed in Mount Laurel on Sunday.
