New England Patriots football player Aaron Hernandez met a media frenzy today due to his ties with the execution-style shooting of a 27-year-old Dorchester man, and speculation that he was involved in the death grew this afternoon after ABC  News reported he destroyed surveillance video and a cell phone.

Police also want to know why a team of house cleaners were hired on Monday to scrub Hernandez’s mansion, sources told ABC News.

Hernandez, 23, plays tight end for the National Football League team. He has not been officially named as a person of interest in the murder, but he’s been a subject of media interest since Odin Lloyd’s body was discovered less than a mile from the NFL star’s home.

Investigators have been tight lipped on the case, however Lloyd was reportedly at a Boston-area club with Hernandez the night before his body was found. Police have questoned Hernandez as part of the investigation, and unconfirmed reports claimed that an arrest was imminent.

Hernandez arrived at Gillette Stadium earlier today, but left after less than an hour. Sky cameras caught Hernandez driving into a Prudential Center parking garage around 1 p.m.

Last night, The Bristol County District Attorney said police are asking the public’s help in locating a silver mirror cover which is believed to have been broken off a vehicle, and maybe visible along a route of travel between Dorchester and North Attleboro.

A Connecticut man has sued Hernandez for allegedly shooting him in the face after the two left a strip club in Miami in February, the victim’s lawyer said on Wednesday.

Hernandez allegedly fired a bullet into Alexander Bradley’s eye after the two of them drove away from Tootsie’s strip club in Miami. The shooting happened in Riviera Beach, some 75 miles north of Miami, according Reuters. Bradley said he lost his eye and has undergone multiple surgeries. He is seeking unspecified damages.
