Philadelphia police have arrested a suspect who was allegedly caught on surveillance video shooting three people March 19 during a hail of gunfire inside a West Oak Lane Chinese takeout store.

Investigators on Monday arrested Brandon Cavanaugh, 23, of the 1900 block of East Chelten Avenue.

Cavanaugh allegedly stood outside China House Takeout on the 6600 block of North 18th Street and shortly after 10:30 p.m. fired a gunshot through the store’s front door.

As the victims struggled to keep the door closed, police said Cavanaugh reached around the door, firing several more rounds into the group of huddled inside.

Cavanaugh is accused of backing up and firing still more shots through the store’s glass door after several failed attempts to get inside.

Three men – aged 19, 21, and 22 – were struck by bullets, but their injuries were not life threatening.

Police released shocking surveillance footage of the violent crime to the public March 22.

As a result, detectives said they received numerous phone tips identifying Cavanaugh as the suspect, which eventually led to his arrest.

Cavanaugh is charged with six counts each of attempted murder, assault and reckless endangerment and three counts each of possession of an instrument of crime, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, carrying unlicensed firearms and carrying firearms in public without a permit.

Cavanaugh was already on probation after pleading guilty in April 2011 to manufacturing, delivering or possessing narcotics with the intent to manufacture or deliver.

At the time of the alleged shooting, he was also awaiting sentencing in connection with a narcotics possession arrest two months ago.

Cavanaugh was on Thursday jailed in lieu of 10 percent of $300,000 bail.

He is next due in court July 22 for a status hearing.
