Woman dies after being thrown from motorcycle, struck by taxi
A 37-year-old woman is dead after she fell off of a motorcycle and was struck by a yellow taxi who did not stop on the Belt Parkway in Brooklyn early Thursday morning, police said.
Cops say the woman was riding on a 2012 BMW motorcycle shortly before 1 a.m. when the operator of the motorcycle, a 42-year-old male, struck a jersey barrier at Pennsylvania Avenue, causing the woman to fall off the motorcycle and into the westbound lane of the parkway.
The woman was then struck by an unidentified yellow taxi who did not remain at the scene, police said.
She was taken to Brookdale Hospital where she was pronounced dead. The motorcyclist was also removed to Brookdale Hospital where he is in stable condition.
No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
