Philadelphia police have made an arrest in the murder Friday night of Williamstown, N.J., man Daniel Cooke, 27, who was shot and killed after responding to a Craigslist post advertising an ATV for sale.

Thomas Coffee, 23, of Willow Grove, was taken into custody and will be charged with murder for allegedly killing Cooke.

Investigators said Cooke traveled to the 1400 block of East Walnut Lane in the West Oak Lane section of Philadelphia around 11 p.m. in an attempt to buy an ATV he saw for sale on Craigslist.

He was reportedly met by a man claiming to be the seller, who allegedly led Cooke down an alley to “inspect” the vehicle.

It was there police said Cooke was shot in the head.

He died on the scene.

There is no word yet whether anything was taken during the crime.

Coffee has already amassed a long rap sheet in the four years since he became an adult, court documents show.

Coffee was in 2010 sentenced to 1 year and 6 months to 7 years in jail after pleading guilty in Philadelphia’s Court of Common Pleas to two counts of robbery with the threat of immediate serious injury and to one count of possessing an instrument of crime.

A judge with the Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas in 2011 sentenced Coffee to 5 1/2 to 22 months in jail, plus a year of consecutive probation, after he pleaded guilty to criminal conspiracy by engaging in theft.

Coffee in 2009 received a 23-day-to-23-month sentence and a year of consecutive probation after pleading guilty to providing false identification to law enforcement, also in Montgomery County.

Coffee was also arrested several additional times in Philadelphia for robbery-related offenses, including auto theft, but charges were each time dismissed or withdrawn.
