Police: Delaware man arrested for 6th DUI after crashing into ditch
Delaware State Police on Saturday arrested a Felton man for his sixth DUI after he allegedly drove off a roadway and into a ditch.
Investigators said Vincent Ware Jr., 51, was driving his 2001 Ford F150 pickup truck north on Turkey Point Road when he at 7:40 p.m. swerved off the roadway and to the right.
Ware allegedly drove back onto the roadway and drifted to the left side of the street.
Police said he then drove off the left side of the road and crashed into a ditch.
Ware, who authorities say was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the truck.
He was taken to Kent General Hospital, where he was treated for minor injuries and released.
Ware was then taken to Troop 3 and charged with a sixth offense DUI, along with careless driving and failing to wear a seatbelt or to have insurance identification.
Ware was on Sunday jailed at the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center on $10,003 cash bail.
