VIDEO: Forget about planes, snakes are in toilets too!
Have you ever skipped out on excursions through the Amazon out of fear of being bitten by snakes? Well you might want to consider avoiding toilets then, too.
While sitting down at a toilet, a man’s penis was bitten by a snake hiding in the bowl— yes, you read that correctly.
According to the Times of Israel, the man “ran from the room in horror” and was treated for “minor injuries” as tests proved the snake was not venomous.
Unfortunately, this isn’t an isolated case, by any means.
Singapore’s Strait Times reported in 1993 that an athlete was bitten on the testicles by an 8-foot python while sitting at the toilet.
In 2011, a snake slithered out of the toilet hole to reveal itself as the source of a clog in a woman’s toilet.
But as it turns out, snakes aren’t the only culprits to the animals-in-toilets chronicles.
Rats are actually the most infamous toilet lurkers, although its unclear how they even get there in the first place.
The Richmond Times Dispatch reported in 1999 that a Virginia woman was bitten by a rat that “jumped up out the commode” while she was sitting on the toilet.
Not too concerned about snakes or rats invading your toilet? Let’s try squirrels.
While rats and snakes may not live in your area, squirrels are probably a better bet.
Although this occurrence is quite rare, recent headlines such as “There’s a Squirrel in My Toilet” by the Fort Worth Star- Telegram, have proved that it’s actually not as rare as you might think.
I guess stop, drop and roll isn’t the only safety technique you’ll be teaching your kids from now on.
Remember to stay calm, keep the lid down and flush!
