The School District of Philadelphia announced this weekend registration dates for the upcoming 2013-2014 school year.

The first day of school is Sept. 9.

The district will open registration for new immigrant students on Aug. 5 at the Multilingual Assessment Center at the Education Center, at 440 N. Broad St.

Parents and legal guardians can register native students at the Family and Education Reunion on Aug. 9 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the School of the Future, 4021 Parkside Ave. General registration will begin Aug. 19 at neighborhood schools. Parents and legal guardians may register students from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday.

“Registration is required for students who moved to another neighborhood during the summer, those who are new to Philadelphia or transferring from private, parochial and charter schools, and kindergarten students who did not pre-register in the spring,” according to a news release.

For those unsure of where to register, the district provides an online search engine that narrows down the options by address. Launch the finder tool, here.

Proof of identification, residency, child’s age and immunization record is required for registration.
