Two young pit bulls were stolen from a Southwest Philadelphia residence early this morning during a home invasion.

The 41-year-old victim reported the violent burglary in which he was beaten and pistol-whipped at 1:48 a.m., police said.

The victim heard a knock at the door to his home on the 6900 block of Linmore Avenue. He was knocked to the ground by two men armed with handguns when he opened the door. One of the men pistol-whipped the victim.

The suspects fled the victim’s home with $500 and two pit bull puppies, according to police.

One suspect is described by police as a dark-skinned black male, about 6 feet tall, with a beard and a mustache. He was wearing a black shirt with a red stripe across the chest, black jeans and black sneakers.

Police described the second suspect as a balding, light-skinned black male with a chipped front tooth. He was wearing a white T-shirt, blue jeans and white sneakers.
