(UPDATE) VIDEO: Anthony Weiner loses his cool over ‘Arab’ jab

UPDATE: The Anthony Weiner campaign later posted a longer version of the incident on its Vimeo page.

The longer video starts still inside the bakery. After a few minutes of Weiner chatting with the store employees and declining a discount they try to offer him, he turns to leave. The critic seen in the other video can be heard in this video saying, “You’re a scumbag, Anthony. Married to an Arab.”

Weiner later told reporters the comment about his wife was why he felt the need to go back inside and confront the man.

After a formidable performance at Tuesday night’s final Democratic mayoral candidate debate, Anthony Weiner lost his cool on the campaign trail again on Wednesday, flying off the handle in response to criticism from a Jewish voter.

The exchange was caught on video and posted online by Yeshiva World News reporter Jacob Kornbluh.

Weiner was leaving Weiss Family Bakery in Borough Park during a campaign stop when the shouting match started.

“That’s a charming guy right there,” Weiner says in response to the man’s comments as he exits the bakery.

When the man continues to heckle Weiner, including calling him “disgusting,” Weiner fires back, “It takes one to know one, jackass.”

Clearly baited, he reels around and engages his critic, badgering: “What’s that? What’s that?” 

“You’re a bad example for the people,” the man pressed, urging Weiner to “stay out of the public eye.”

“What rabbi taught you that you’re my judge?” Weiner demands of the man, who is wearing a yarmulke.

Weiner continues to question the man’s “moral superiority,” and indignantly adds: “By the way, I fought very hard for this community and delivered more than you will ever for your entire life!”

When the man disagrees, insisting “you delivered for yourself,” Weiner declares his accusation “baloney.”

“Your ignorance is being shown to the entire world,” the candidate warns, gesturing to the myriad cameras and iPhones recording their dispute.
