Now that’s how you turn the other cheek: Prabhjot Singh, a 31-year-old professor at Columbia University, said he wants to educate the people who beat him on Monday in an apparent hate crime.

“I think it’s pointless to ask what was going through their minds. I would ask them if they had any questions, if they knew what they were doing. Invite them where we worship. Get to know who we are and then share it with your friends,” Singh told the Daily News.

The forgiving professor was mobbed by around two dozen people who attacked him on 110th Street and Lenox Avenue. They called him a “terrorist” and “Osama,” believing he was a Muslim. Singh is a Sikh and wears a turban and has a beard in accordance with his religion.

The thugs yanked his beard and hit him several times. They ended up breaking his jaw.

The NYPD’s Hate Crimes Task Force is still investigating the incident and trying to identify Singh’s attackers. Singh is an associate professor of international and public affairs at Columbia. He is also a medical doctor.
