West Chester school bus driver charged with molesting boy
A 63-year-old school bus driver from West Chester has been charged with molesting a boy, who is now an adult, on several occasions about 10 years ago.
West Goshen police arrested Terry Smith on Saturday, NBC10 reports. Detectives since April had been investigating a man’s claim that Smith molested him on several occasions during sleepovers at Smith’s home beginning more than a decade ago.
Smith, who has driven a school bus for the Garnet Valley School District in Chester County since 2012, is charged with endangering the welfare of a child, indecent assault and corruption of a minor. He is being held in the Chester County prison on $100,000 bail.
The victim told investigators Smith molested him beginning when he was 8 years old. The attacks occurred between 2002 and 2004.
Police believe the molestation of the boy was isolated.
