SEPTA adjusts bus schedules for Philadelphia Marathon this weekend

With streets closed and detours erected for the Philadelphia Marathon this weekend, SEPTA announced changes to dozens of Center City bus schedules.

- On Saturday, closures on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway between 19th and 24th Streets will lead to detours for Routes 7, 32, 33, 38, 43 and 48 from 4 a.m. to 1 p.m.

- On Sunday, closures on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway between Eakins Oval and 20th Street will lead to detours for Routes 7, 32, 33, 38, 43 and 48 starting at 3 a.m.

- Also on Sunday, the course will start at 22nd Street and the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, which will force street closures inCenter City, Penn’s Landing, Fairmount Park and surrounding areas before ending at the Art Museum. Routes R, 2, 4, 7, 9, 12, 16, 17, 21, 23, 25, 27, 32, 33, 35, 38, 40, 42, 43, 47, 47M, 48, 57, 61, 64, 65, 124/125 and 15 will be detoured starting at 6 a.m.

Service is expected to resume after the race.

Service on the Broad Street Line will increase service Sunday, before and during the marathon, and also leading up to the 1 p.m. Eagles game.

SEPTA said additional detours could be added throughout the weekend due to unscheduled road closures.
