VIDEO: Police seek Stanton deli armed robbers

Philadelphia police are seeking the public’s help identifying two armed robbers who stormed the secured area of a deli on the 1600 block of  West Susquehanna Avenue on Sunday night.

The armed bandits fled Han Enterprises, located at 1639 W. Susquehanna Ave., with $250 stolen from one of two registers that an employee was forced at gunpoint to open, according to police.

Several customers were inside the store at the time of the robbery, which happened about 10:40 p.m.

The suspects were described as thin black men, about 20 years old. One is 5 feet 9 inches tall and wore a dark, possibly navy blue jacket, dark pants and a black mask. The other is between 6 feet and 6 feet 2 inches in height, and wore a dark  jacket, blue jeans and a black mask covering part of his face.

Both suspects were armed with a handgun.

Police posted surveillance video of the robbery to YouTube on Wednesday morning. The video briefly shows one of the suspects point a gun at an employee through an opening to a bulletproof window at the checkout counter as the second suspect moves to the back of the store. It then shows the suspects leaving the store.

What the video does not show, according to police, is the second suspect kicking in the door to an employees-only section of the store, then grabbing and pointing a gun at the employee while demanding that he open the cash registers.

Police urge anyone with information about the robbery to call Central Detectives Division at 215-686-3093/3094.
