VIDEO: Dramatic moment London terrorists charged at armed police

A new video has emerged this morning showing the moment the two Islamic terrorists, who beheaded a British soldier on a London street, were shot by armed police.

The shootings happened about 20 minutes after the men, both known to security services for their extreme Islamic views, hacked to death 25-year-old Drummer Michael Rigby outside London’s Woolwich Barracks.

In the video, obtained by the UK’s Daily Mirror newspaper, the men appear to have lured cops to open ground by dragging the body of their victim into the road.

That has sparked speculation that the men were planning to ambush and kill police first responders.

In the video, the man in black clothing, Michael Adebolajo, charges at the first police vehicle to arrive. He is armed with a meat cleaver that he had just used to kill Drummer Rigby.

He gets to within two feet of the female driver of the armed response unit before a male colleague in the back of the car opens fire, sending Adebolajo spinning to the ground.

Meanwhile, the other killer, Michael Oluwatobi Adebowale, advances on other officers armed with an old handgun a large kitchen knife. He too is shot and falls to the ground.

Both men remain in British hospitals and are expected to make a full recovery. There is no death penalty in the UK and if convicted the men are likely to face life in prison. Life sentences in the UK rarely mean life, with offenders routinely released after serving a portion of their sentence.

British police are not routinely armed and it took specially-armed cops about 10 minutes to make it to the scene through London traffic.

The soldier’s murder has put British intelligence services into the spotlight after it emerged that the country’s interior security agency, MI5, knew of both men and their support for violent jihad.
