Chris Christie officially not running for prez (UPDATED)
New Jersey Governor Chris Christie said Tuesday he will not seek the Republican nomination to run for president in 2012, ending speculation of his possible White House bid.
“Now is not my time,” Christie told a press conference, saying he had spent the past two weeks considering a run after being courted by big Republican donors.
“New Jersey, whether you like it or not, you are stuck with me,” he said, adding he has “unfinished business” as governor.
Christie had said for months he would not seek the Republican nomination to run against President Barack Obama in 2012, saying he was not ready. But strong pressure from many donors and party activists concerned about the strength of the current Republican field prompted Christie to reconsider.

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie unexpectedly added a 1 p.m. press conference to his schedule on Tuesday, setting the stage for him to address speculation he may run for the White House.

If the National Review is to be believed, he’s not going to run, which is pretty anticlimactic! If that’s the case, here’s what Christie should announce instead:
–”I am endorsing Barack Obama in 2012.”
–”I am planning to run in 2016, no matter who wins next year, just to mess with you all.”
–”Let’s be honest: Godfather’s Pizza really is the worst.”
–”I cannot spend one more second in the foul hellpit that is New Jersey, and so I would like to announce that I am resigning, effective immediately. Also, today is the happiest day of my life.”
–”I’m not going to run, but by all means please continue to talk about me all the time, because I do enjoy that.”
–”Stop making fun of my weight. Or I’ll eat you.”
