Free SEPTA subway service extended
Due to today’s NHL Winter Classic game between the Flyers and Rangers being moved to 3 p.m., SEPTA has extended free service on the Broad Street Subway until 8 p.m. for passengers boarding at AT&T Station near the Sports Complex in South Philadelphia.
Pepsi MAX sponsored free rides for all subway passengers from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. To accommodate the later start time and allow riders time to get home, only passengers boarding at AT&T Station will have the extended free rides. Passengers boarding at other stations must pay after 6 p.m.
Additionally, sports express service will start at 1:48 p.m. with trains running every 10 minutes from Fern Rock Transportation Center to the sports complex. Sports express service will resume after the game.
