BU ladies are on the prowl for Harvard hubbies

The Harvard Hoochies, a group of seven anonymous Boston University ladies on the prowl for a perfect mate at one of the countries most elite campuses, have piqued the interest of people on the Internet for the past year, posting their antics on Twitter.

Now, the self-proclaimed “BU Biddies” are documenting their every move in blog form at Harvardhoochies.com.

“We are BU biddies, hooching and husband hunting at Harvard Final Clubs. We ward off RUHGs (random ugly Harvard girls) … frequently,” the group said on its website.

The Hoochies, who formed their group in 2010, said they are “similar to an exclusive final club with personalized rituals and terminology.”

Their mission is to “successfully hook up.”

“If a Harvard husband comes our way, I don’t think we would say no,” said one of the group members, who asked to remain anonymous.

The cohort of coeds acts like a sassy sisterhood of sorority socialites attending exclusive Harvard final club soirees in search of sophisticated studs.

Final clubs are all-male social scenes for select members that have grandiose clubhouses, similar to the ones featured in “The Social Network.”

While the girls’ posts have caused some controversy on both BU’s and Harvard’s campuses, their husband-hunting escapades have supplied a level of humor that is hard to ignore.

“It’s just for fun, but we have received so much press about it,” one of the group members said.

‘Hoochie’ as a second language

The Harvard Hoochies have their own lingo they use when traversing the Ivy League scene.

RUHG (n): random ugly Harvard girl; a high percent of the female population at Harvard who resemble carpet or, simply, men.

Member (n): The best of the best. Current Harvard junior or senior “brother” of a final club. Members are full-fledged Harvardian manmeat.

NARP (n): normal average real person; as in, not a final club member or athlete at Harvard.

Zuckerbee (n): A Mark Zuckerberg wannabe.
