Police ID Jim’s Steaks employee arrested for alleged drug dealing

Nathaniel Danny Cyrus, 55.

Police have identified the Jim’s Steaks employee who was arrested for allegedly selling narcotics.

Nathaniel Danny Cyrus, 55, was taken into custody at the sandwich shop on the 400 block of South Street yesterday. Investigators also executed a warrant at his home on the 2000 block of Dickinson Street in Point Breeze.

Police reportedly recovered prescription pills, marijuana and cash from both of the locations. Cyrus is charged with possession with the intent to deliver and related offenses.

The bust was not the first time Jim’s or one of its employees has faced drug allegations. Andre McMillian, 48, was arrested in August at the steak shop. Officers said they confiscated cocaine, marijuana and the prescription medications Percocent, Xanax and Endocet, as well as a large amount of cash.

Jim’s now-deceased former co-owner William Proetto was busted in 1990 after Lower Merion police found cocaine, marijuana, Valium, Halcion, cash and a hangun during a raid of his home. He pleaded guilty to possessing cocaine with the intent to distribute.

Proetto was also arrested in 2007 for driving under the influence and drug possession.
