Where to find ‘Girls’: An interactive map

Do you have what it takes to be a hipster extra?

If you’re a fan of girls, then you’re probably also a fan of the HBO series “Girls.” If you like “Girls,” then you probably also like New York. And if you like New York, then you likely like all the places in New York that the girls in “Girls” visit.

WNYC and The Guardian have teamed up to build a comprehensive guide of all the places and spaces that show up in the wildly popular show (similar to the one created for “Mad Men” last week). But as the show continues to evolve, so does the map, and its creators are turning to you for help in tracking “Girls” all over the city.

Right now, a handful of locations from the show are marked on the map, complete with brief descriptions about how and when they appear. For example, the High Line is the setting for one much-talked about moment, as detailed in the interactive map: “Marnie has her infamous scene with Booth Jonathan on The High Line. He tells her that when he sleeps with her for the first time, ‘I might scare you a little because I’m a man, and I know how to do things.’”

And well, we all know what happened next.

So if you recognize a place where Hannah, Marnie, Jessa or Shoshanna are hanging out on the show, shoot a message on over to girlsmapped@wnyc.org to help land it on the map.
