Cesar Lucas: Pizza delivery boy indicted in UWS rape, burglary

New York Sal's Pizza on 10th Ave., where Cesar Lucas was employed.

A 16-year-old pizza delivery boy has been indicted after prosecutors say he entered a woman’s apartment and raped her as her daughter slept in the same bed.

Cesar Lucas, of the Bronx, is accused of entering the woman’s West 61st Street apartment in the early morning hours of Sept. 29 after he delivered a pizza to a neighbor in the same building. According to the district attorney, Lucas entered the woman’s bedroom and raped her as her young daughter slept in the same bed.

Lucas told police he committed the rape because he was “feeling horny,” according to court documents.

He has charged with rape, burglary, sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child. He is also charged with entering another woman’s West 42nd Street apartment on Aug. 21 and stealing her wallet after making a delivery.

“Women should not have to sleep with one eye open for fear of intruders,” District Attorney Cyrus Vance said. “The defendant is not only charged with committing a rape, but with doing so in the presence of the victim’s child. I commend the victim for her tremendous courage in coming forward.”
