Police: Missing 10-year-old girl found safe, alleged abductor still at large (UPDATE)

Moriah Ford, 27.

UPDATE III: Police said that 10-year-old Kimiyah Scott has been safely returned to a relative. But her biological mother and alleged abductor, Moriah Ford, is still at large.

UPDATE II: Police said that, contrary to preliminary information, Scott and Ford have NOT been located. Investigators said contact has been made with Ford, but that neither she nor the child are currently in custody.

UPDATE: Both Kimiyah Scott and her birth mother Moriah Ford have been safely located, according to Philadelphia police.

The desperate search is on for 10-year-old Kimiyah Scott, who police said may be in danger after she was abducted by her birth mother from a North Philadelphia home on Friday.

Police said that Scott was reported missing by her custodial guardians yesterday after her birth mother, 27-year-old Moriah Ford, took her from a home on the 2500 block of West Gordon Street in North Philadelphia at 10:45 p.m. Friday night. Gordon left the area as a passenger in a dark-colored Chevrolet sedan.

According to investigators, Ford lost custody of Kimiyah in October for allegedly assaulting her and has an active arrest warrant for endangering the welfare of a child. Authorities are classifying Scott as an endangered missing child.

Scott is four-foot-three-inches tall with brown eyes and a light brown complexion. She weighs about 60 pounds, has curly black hair and was last seen wearing pink and red pajamas. Ford is five-foot-four and weighs about 130 pounds. She has tattoos on her chest and arm.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of either Scott or Ford is asked to contact the Central Detective Division at 215-686-3093 or to call 911.
