Anonymous tip leads to arrest of California fugitive in Kensington
A California fugitive has been arrested in Kensington thanks to an anonymous tip, federal authorities said.
The FBI took Shauntae Edmond Gray into custody yesterday at an apartment on Hart Lane. Authorities said Gray was wanted for abusing his two children.
In August 2010, police responded to the home of Gray and his girlfriend to investigate allegations of child abuse. Authorities arrested Gray’s girlfriend and determined Gray had also participated in the abuse. In September 2010, a court ordered Gray to turn his two biological children over to Child Protective Services, but Gray ignored the order and fled Sacramento. An arrest warrant for Gray was issued in January 2011.
According to his FBI profile, Gray, who has several aliases, is a Reggae musician who has recorded several YouTube videos and performed at Reggae festivals. He has connections in Oregon and northern California through his performances and was known to live in Pennsylvania in 2011.
Authorities said they received an anonymous call Sunday from someone who had seen Gray in the area and recognized him from a photo on the FBI’s website.
The children, 5-year-old Anageon Bey-Gray and 3-year-old Zahir Bey-Gray, were safely recovered.
