VIDEO: Police release footage of couple wanted for slashing 59 tires in West Philly
Police have released surveillance footage of two people suspected of slashing the tires of 59 cars in West Philadelphia early yesterday morning.
Investigators said numerous residents of Hazel Avenue between 49th and 50th streets and those living on the 5300 block of Chancellor Street awoke yesterday to find their tires had been slashed some time between 5:30 a.m. and 6:40 a.m.
A man and woman can be seen on a video released last night walking down the street, appearing to crouch down next to several cars whose tires were apparently punctured.
Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey yesterday announced a $5,000 reward for the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the vandalism, while Fraternal Order of Police Lodge No. 5 President John McNesby announced an additional $5,000 reward.
One suspect is described as a five-foot-three black female of about 30 years of age with a stocky build and long hair. She was last seen wearing a red or pink jacket and carrying a light colored-bag.
The second suspect is described as a five-foot-eleven black male wearing dark clothing.
