Raise the Roof: Boston’s new rooftop farm to hold benefit concert

Two local farmers hope to have a 55,000-square-foot farm up and running atop the Boston Design Center by the spring, but in order to do that, they must first Raise the Roof.
The creators of Higher Ground Farm announced that they are putting on a “Raise the Roof” benefit concert at the Villa Victoria Center for the Arts on February 17.
John Stoddard, one of the founding farmers, said the event will be one of two fundraisers to help get the project off the ground.
“It’s evolving. We’ve had set backs, and victories, and we just keep moving forward,” he said.
Once complete, the rooftop farm will be the second largest in the world, and will produce vegetables that will be sold locally.
The benefit will include four bands, raffles and booze. Tickets range from $25 to $30, and can be purchased here.
