Delaware State Police are looking for man they say lured three women he met online to two Newark motels early Saturday morning, then robbed them.

Investigators said the first robbery happened around 1 a.m at the Comfort Inn on Concord Lane. A 22-year-old woman came to the motel for a meeting police say she and the suspect arranged through an online social network.

But when the woman’s date came to the room, he allegedly pulled a handgun and demanded her money. He fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Two women – aged 18 and 19 – were robbed just 45 minutes later at the Econo Lodge on McIntosh Plaza, less than a half mile away.

Police said the same suspect arranged a “similar meeting” with the two women through a social network. The man allegedly held the two women up at gunpoint and again fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

No injuries were reported as a result of either incident.

Police describe the suspect as a 200 to 220-pound, 5-foot-9-inch tall white male between the ages of 20 and 25 with a stocky build armed with an unknown type of handgun.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Delaware State Police Robbery Unit at Troop 2 at 302-834-2630 ext. 6, to call the Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333, or to submit an anonymous tip by texting 274637 (CRIMES) with the keyword “DSP” or by visiting Tip Submit.com.
