Police issue alert after Roxbury sexual assaults
Boston police have issued a community alert after two women were attacked and sexually assaulted this weekend in Roxbury.
The first incident occurred Saturday at about 11:30 a.m. in the area of Columbus Avenue and Washington Street.
The woman told police she was approached by a man who started a conversation and eventually led her to an abandoned property near 2900 Washington St. That’s where the man attacked her and sexually assaulted her before he fled.
The second incident also occurred in Roxbury early yesterday.
Officers met the victim at about 7:30 a.m. She told them she had met a man earlier in the week and they agreed to meet at a local establishment. They met on Washington Street and, like the previous incident, the man led the woman to an abandoned property near 2900 Washington St. where he sexually assaulted her and fled.
In both incidents the man is described as a clean shaven black man in his 30s with a husky build and between 5 feet 7 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall.
