PSA: The guy at Broad and Vine dressed in a KKK robe is not in the KKK

This is not a member of the Ku Klux Klan, but local documentarian Sixx King.
Those who may have noticed during their morning commute a man standing on the median of North Broad and Vine streets decked out in a white robe and pointed hood can rest assured – he’s in no way a member of the Ku Klux Klan.”I’m protesting black-on-black murder,” said Sixx King, who is himself black.

Sixx is the director of documentary Mothers of No Tomorrow, a film that chronicles the ordeal faced by those who have lost children to violent crime. He donned the controversial hate group garb this morning to make a statement.

“I’m making a stance that the number of African Americans killed have surpassed the number of victims in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars,” he said. “And African Americans have killed more of their own people than the KKK.”

He waved a sign emblazoned with a graphic of a semi-automatic rifle and the text, “The KKK killed 3,446 blacks in 86 years. Black on black murders surpass that number every 6 months.”

Though most pedestrians seemed nonplussed, at least a few of them – who did not grasp his intent – had choice words for Sixx. “You’ll burn soon enough,” one woman said as she crossed the street. “You’ll burn in hell.”
