Romance and tacos: Anna’s Taqueria in Brookline hosting speed dating event

Tacos and romance go hand in hand
Tacos and romance go hand in hand

Tonight, beloved burrito joint Anna’s Taqueria will host its first-ever speed dating event to let singles mix and mingle to the flavors of Mexican cuisine.

The dating event, called “Anna’s TALKeria,” will start with a meet and greet over dinner before participants indulge in timed mini-dates to meet “potential new love interests, friends and fellow burrito fanatics,” according to organizers.

All proceeds from admission will go toward supporting Casa Myrna in its mission to end domestic and dating violence.

“I think it will offer a fun, unique way to meet new people while giving back to a great cause,” said Mike Kamio, the taqueria’s owner.

About 30 people are expected to attend, he said.

The event runs from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Anna’s Taqueria on Harvard Street in Brookline. It costs $20 per person. Hopeless romantics and burrito lovers can register here.
