Kensington man arrested after four-hour barricade standoff

Police have taken a man into custody after he allegedly barricaded himself last night inside a home on the 2000 block of Venango Street.

According to investigators, officers responded to the house around 11:15 p.m. for a report of a person with a gun and declared a barricade situation a short time later.

Investigators believe that an armed male shut himself inside the residence. After a four-hour standoff, the man was taken into custody around 3:15 a.m. this morning. No injuries were reported.

The man’s identity has not been released, and no further details are yet available.
