Two injured in Delaware River hazmat spill

Two people were injured in a hazmat spill near Philadelphia’s Port Richmond section Sunday night.

Fifty gallons of phenol spilled in the Delaware River following an equipment malfunction at Kinder Morgan Co. on the 3300 block of North Delaware Avenue, 6ABC Action News reported.

Two workers reportedly were exposed to the phenol and were taken to the hospital in stable condition following the incident, which occurred about 11 p.m.
