Donnell Baines, a purported pimp running a prostitution ring in the Upper East Side, was sentenced in Manhattan Supreme Court to 62 years in prison, the NY Post reported.

Baines insisted the women working for him were happy, pointing to the fact that they apparently continued to return to him, despite allegations that he repeated beat and raped them.

“It defies human experience for somebody to [be raped] and not say anything and to keep leaving and coming back,” he argued to Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Patricia Nunez.

Nunez apparently called the women’s repeated returns to Baines as “mystifying.”

Baines kept at least four women, including a 16-year-old, in his East 77th Street home, but said he was only operating a Webcam pornography service, according to the Post.

His defense attorney, Anastasios Sarikas reportedly called the sentence “excessive,” and said he believes it will be overturned on appeal.
