Off-duty N.J. cop accidentally fires gun through Old City bar window
An off-duty N.J. police officer accidentally fired a bullet through the window of an Old City bar this afternoon, according to investigators.
Police said the cop, whose identity has not been released, was attempting to unload his weapon around 11 a.m. inside his car on the 100 block of Chestnut Street.
That’s when he accidentally discharged the gun, shooting through the window of his car and sending the bullet shattering into the glass storefront of Triumph Brewing Company, according to authorities.
No injuries were reported, though the bar was closed this afternoon for cleanup. Authorities do not expect to file charges in connection with the shooting.
