Police: Fake nurse examined children at Saint Christopher’s Hospital
Police have arrested a Philadelphia woman for allegedly impersonating a nurse and inappropriately examining children at Saint Christopher’s Hospital in North Philadelphia.
Investigators said 24-year-old Ashley Delvalle, of the 4700 block of North 2nd Street in Feltonville, was at Saint Christopher’s Hospital with her child on Tuesday when she went into several patients’ rooms and told them she was a nurse and would be performing physical examinations.
Delvalle allegedly inappropriately touched one child and weighed a second child.
Employees notified hospital security, who called police.
Responding officers determined Delvalle didn’t have the required state medical license to practice nursing and arrested her without incident.
She was arraigned Wednesday night and bail was set at $50,000.
Delvalle is charged with simple and indecent assault and false impersonation of a privately employed person.
She is currently jailed at the Riverside Correctional Facility and is next due in court to face trial on May 7.
