VIDEO: Police seeking N. Philadelphia robbery suspects

Philadelphia police hope the public can help identify the two suspects caught on tape in a strong-arm robbery on the 1300 block of Olney Avenue Thursday morning.

The robbery occurred in the rear driveway behind 1339 Olney Ave. at around 9:50 a.m., police said.

The video, which police posted to YouTube early Friday, shows the two suspects enter the driveway and hide behind another vehicle, apparently waiting for the victim.

The two men attacked the victim from behind after he entered his vehicle’s trunk. They stole a bag that held an unknown amount of cash.

The suspects fled north on Park Avenue before doubling back and entering what police describe as a dark green 2000 or newer Jeep Cherokee on Olney Avenue.

Police describe both suspects as black males. One is about 5-feet-10 or 5-feet-11 and thin, while the other is about 5-feet-9, 25 to 30 years old and stocky.

The thin suspect was wearing a dark-colored baseball cap, a dark gray,  hooded down vest, a light-gray, long-sleeved shirt, dark-colored jeans and black and white sneakers. The stocky suspect was wearing a gray, hooded sweatshirt, dark jeans faded on the back of the legs and white sneakers.

Police ask anyone with any information about this crime to call 215-686-TIPS (8477) or text a tip to PPD TIP, or  773847. You can also submit information by electronic form by clicking here.
