UPenn athletic director named to National Jewish Sports Hall of Fame
UPenn’s athletic director received the call.
Steve Bilsky, the University of Pennsylvania’s director of athletics, was named to the National Jewish Sports Hall of Fame. He will be inducted Sunday.
“This is an overwhelming honor,” Bilsky said in a statement. “To join a group that spans my heroes growing up, to athletes I competed against, to colleagues I have worked with, makes me proud and humbled.”
Bilsky, a three-time All-Ivy guard, captained the 1970-71 basketball team. The team went undefeated in the regular season, but lost in the East Regional final in the NCAA tournament.
He has served as athletic director for 19 years.
Bilsky is also a 1988 inductee of the Philadelphia Big 5 Hall of Fame, a 1998 inductee into the Penn Athletic Hall of Fame, and a 2002 inductee into the Philadelphia Jewish Sports Hall of Fame.
