As closing arguments are underway in the trial of West Philadelphia abortion provider Kermit Gosnell, pro-life organization Priests for Life is holding a noon prayer vigil outside the Criminal Justice Center at 13th and Filbert streets.

“Let me assure you of one thing,” Priests for Life national director Father Frank Pavone wrote of Gosnell in an open letter posted on the group’s website

“He is the rule, not the exception, in the abortion industry. He, along with every abortionist in America, deserves to be tried for crimes against humanity and should be behind bars.”

Pavone said he and his followers will be praying “tirelessly for the hastening of that day.”

Priests for Life is also encouraging anti-abortion advocates to watch a documentary Fox News will be airing this Sunday, May 5 at 9 p.m.

Pavone said the film, titled “See No Evil – The Kermit Gosnell Murders,” details “a very important trial that raises many key issues in our national debate over abortion.”

A number of pro-life activists and organizations have been using the Kermit Gosnell trial to argue abortion is a brutal act that should be banned.

Pro-choice proponents, conversely, have been pointing to the alleged “house of horrors” clinic in West Philadelphia as an example of why abortion should be legal and well-regulated.
