The man who allegedly shot and killed a 14-year-old Queens girl as she was riding a city bus was caught in South Carolina and arrested, the Queens District Attorney’s office announced Tuesday.

Kevin McClinton, 21, has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of D’aja Robinson on May 18.

Robinson was sitting near the rear of a Q6 bus in Jamaica on her way home from a Sweet 16 party when McClinton allegedly fired multiple shots toward the bus, aiming for another individual. One of the bullets pierced the window and struck Robinson in the neck. She was taken to an area hospital, where she was pronounced dead, according to a statement from the D.A.’s office.

“The death of this young, talented 14-year-old is a senseless tragedy and another painful example of the mindless gun-related violence that too often takes innocent lives,” District Attorney Richard Brown said.

McClinton will be extradited to New York. He is also charged with reckless endangerment and criminal possession of a weapon. He faces 25 years to life in prison if convicted.
