Early morning shooting in Stoneham leaves one dead
An early morning shooting in Stoneham left one person dead and another wounded.
According to WBZ, the shooting occurred before 1 a.m. on Micah’s Pond Way in Stoneham. The deceased victim is 26-year-old Army Ranger Joseph Puopolo, who just returned from active duty in Afghanistan. The second victim, a friend of Puopolo’s, was not named.
Puopolo’s godfather confirmed the death, stating that Joseph had just celebrated his birthday and was a kind and generous individual.
“He’d give you the shirt off his back,” the distraught man told NECN.
Puopolo did not live at the residence where the shooting occurred. However, investigators are paying close attention to a black Lincoln in the driveway, NECN added.
The Stoneham Patch is reporting that police radio confirms three suspects related to the shooting have been apprehended by police. One was found in Stoneham, while the other two were found by officers in Medford. There is no further information about the suspects at this time.
