Man slain in North Philadelphia shooting
An unidentified man was gunned down early Sunday morning during a shooting in North Philadelphia.
Police said the victim was a black male between the ages of 40 and 50 who is for now being treated as a “John Doe.”
The man was shot once in the head around 1 a.m. on the 2700 block of North 27th Street near Lehigh Avenue, according to investigators.
He died on the street just minutes later.
In an unrelated incident several hours earlier, a man was shortly before 10 p.m. injured during a shooting near 64th Street and Greenway Avenue in the Mount Moriah section of Southwest Philadelphia.
Police said that victim, 20, was shot once in the chest and taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in stable condition.
No arrests have yet been made in connection with either crime.
