Revel Casino lays off 75 after bankruptcy filing
Two months since emerging from bankruptcy, Revel Casino announced it has laid off 75 senior-management employees.
The Atlantic City casino-hotel, which cost $2 billion to build, has been wrought with financial issues since it opened in April 2012. It filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in March.
Revel eliminated close to $2 billion in debt after it emerged from bankruptcy in May, but it is still operating at high costs.
In a news release, casino officials said the layoffs are part of “a comprehensive cost-rationalization initiative.”
