Philadelphia police on Monday released a composite sketch of a man suspected of attempting to carjack and sexually assault a woman last Thursday in East Germantown.

Investigators said the victim, 31, was shortly before 8 p.m. driving in her car on the 1900 block of Conlyn Street when an unknown man got into the passenger’s side.

He allegedly threatened the woman with a semiautomatic handgun and ordered her to drive away.

Police said the man told the victim he intended to sexually assault her while pulling at her clothing.

The woman was able to flee the car about a mile and a half away, at Chew Avenue and Washington Lane.

The suspect is described as a 5-foot-7-inch tall to 5-foot-10-inch tall thin black male between the ages of 19 and 22 and weighing between 150 and 170 pounds.

He was last seen wearing a black or dark gray hooded sweatshirt and dark-colored jeans.

Anyone with information on the suspect or crime is asked to contact the Special Victims Unit at 215-685-3251, 3252 or 3253.
